Of course, I made some purchases here and there, but I hooted something that was way awesome, and I wanted to share my loots with you guys! (I hope I still have some readers… LOL)

I saw this on offer for SGD 50 and I was able to select the Rider Masks instead of random picking! That’s why they aren’t from the same collection. Oh, I bought them from Fujiya, go look them up on Facebook.

What did I pick? Oh, and I actually shared the loot with my brother, and we split the cost evenly.

And the normal Faiz mask I got way earlier came along to join in the photo shoot! (Not much of a photoshoot though, )

And also, the offer even throws in a free light up base!

I really love this Rider Mask Collections, the details are very finely sculpted… The heads are really very detailed, very show-accurate. I wonder if there’s a Gundam counterpart to this?

And sorry for the lack of updates… Been so busy with schoolwork….

But! I have to do a short post on my thoughts on this new series as Sunrise already said, “A new stepping stone for Gundam.” Or something similar to that…

First up, the characters….

You have got to be kidding me…… Young kids as main characters? Definitely gonna be “kid-friendly”…. Although the last time they had a kid protagonist, people died. Lots of people died. (Gundam Victory) But, as Sunrise has already said… This is “kid-friendly”. Well, we can always hope right?

Next! The MS and gadgets:

Seriously…. WHUT? Maybe my views towards the Gundam Age-1 will change after watching the anime…

WHUT? A digivice-like device? And they said the Gundam Age-1 gains experience with every battle? This isn’t some RPG game we are talking about right….

Model kits:

As we all know by now, we will see 2 new Grades entering the market. We have the AG(advanced grades) and GB(Gage-ing Builders). All of these new Grades will come with “gage-ing chips” inside the kits, that enable builders to scan their models when playing some arcade game.(GPB anyone???)

AG will be kinda like the FGs from the 00 series, and the GB will be in 1/100 scale, but GB are more like figurines, like the RD line?

Of course, we will still get HGs, MGs, and even the Mega Size!

To tell you the truth, I am actually more looking forward to see the model kits of the UE than the MS themselves. Oh come on, the aliens look cool….

Let’s wait and see…. The anime will start showing in OCT 2011.

Well, that’s all my backlogs. I hope there’s time to finish them all….

So I decided to revive my passion for gunplas by doing a simple snapfit!!!!

I took my time on this kit:

Just a regular snapfit. Really brings back the memories when I was just starting out. I only used scissors and nail clippers back then. I didn’t bother about the nubs, didn’t know much back then…

And talking about this kit… The arms articulation are great! The articulation can be even on par with modern HGs. And the details! Delicious details…. I will do up the detailing when I have the time in the future.

So, did I manage to re-ignite my passion? HELL YES! I am already looking forward to the next kit. But of course, I have to find time…. And I am starting my final year next week…. T_T

But anyways, as promised, here’s another long overdue post on OOO. More long over due reviews coming in soon…

First release Batch also came along with UNKH’s hand and a display stand. One of the main reasons I wanted to get this guy anyways haha…

UNKH and the display stand. I wonder what’s the correct spelling though? The box says UNKH but in the show it’s been subbed as ANKH. I guess it doesn’t really matter much…

As expected from SHFs, kneeling ain’t a problem.

The Ozu Driver is very nicely detailed for such a small piece. You can see the medals slotted in.

The Driver is able to swivel,

A very nice touch that the belt is able to move.

And onto the claws… The claws are “extended” by taking off the “withdrawn” claws and replacing them with the “extended” claws. Pity they couldn’t make it swivel like the Ozu Driver. Although there are size differences between the “withdrawn” and “Extended” claws. The “extended” are larger in size.

The Medajaliber is fairly detailed as well… Making it to be show accurate.

TRIPLE SCANNING CHARGE!

*The UNKH display stand doesn’t come with the “clamp”. I had to use mine from the stage arts stands.

SCANNING CHARGE! The legs can’t “henshin” into the hopper legs, although I prefer this version of the rider kick. The hopper legs in the show… Are just too freaky.

Sad to say… Even though the eyes of the head are nicely detailed… This figurine isn’t without problems. The head and legs are fairly loose, and you can even see obvious nub marks all over the body. And it IS disappointing as SHFs are getting more expensive, but the QC has DROPPED. Drastically.

But if you can accept the flaws, and the high price point by now because of UNKH, it’s a pretty nice figurine to have. I got mine for SGD 38 or was it SGD 36? Can’t remember… But the price has shooted up like mad.

Well that’s it for the review of the Tatoba combo. Personally I feel that it’s a good figurine to have, but the flaws due to dip in QC has caused me to feel disappointed towards it. Otherwise, it is a very detailed figurine. I do hope that future SHFs can better improve….

The SHF Joker!!!!!! My first SHF exclusive! Although I had 2 loots today, but undoubtly Joker’s the main star of this post!!!!! Damn, the boxart’s beautiful!

The Joker cost me SGD 72, while the SIC KT Blade was SGD 15.

Damn….. Really broke….

This review…. Is the first one that does not involve weapons here in this blog. LOL (I think….)

Unless of course, you count that tongue as a weapon…. XD

Looks kinda weird for the BEAST to stand upright, guess the right pose should be it “crawling”. In BEAST mode, the arms are longer as well.

Despite it being such a weird and unique looking figure, the articulation is actually pretty good! Great for dynamic poses and stuff. As you can see, the arm articulation is pretty good, doesn’t disappoint at all!

Yep…… Kneeling isn’t a problem. And the fact that Bandai throws in 2 blocks of flats and 2 blocks of tower, really is nice for a diorama. Small gesture, but better than nothing.

The flats and tower give off the impression just how huge an Eva is. Remember, they are like 70+ metres in height. One stomp can kill off a Gundam….. No joke.

Now, that’s one scene you don’t want to come across….. An Eva, getting ready to pounce. Not good….

The BEAST design makes it easy for it to do sit and reaches. Damn, I wish I could be as flexible as it….. I am weak in sit and reaches… T_T

I am weak at this too… But not for the BEAST.

Pros:

- Wild articulation (Maybe I am exaggerating, but this is one of the figures which I own that has one of the best articulation)

Cons:

- No weapons

- High price point (If no discount)

- Design isn’t for everyone

Conclusion: This is one really unique figure to have in your collection, as I have mentioned above, the design really isn’t for everyone, you may be put off by its design, but frankly speaking, it’s ok to me. Also, I wouldn’t have picked this up if it weren’t on sale on Hobby Search. It’s original price was 3500 yen, which translates to SGD 54.60, isn’t really a good price for this, I got mine for about SGD 30+ (including shipping). If you think the Eva-02 BEAST’s design appeals to you, go for it. Although you may want to pick it up when it’s on sale. 3500 yen isn’t cheap for something that has no weapons, or any accessories. (Other than the buildings)
